  • Study subject: Zoology of Invertebrates. Research: New species and other taxa of invertebrates (insects) new to science and their description (about 90 new species and genera new to science from various regions all over the world, mainly from SE Europe, Asia, Central and South America, South Africa and Magascar have been described by the author). Diagnostics and identification of species of vertebrates (insects) applying morphological, ecological and other methods (new identification keys of Nepticulidae and Tischeriidae been published in 2003, 2007–2008, and 2012 by the author).

Study subject: Exotic Entomology. Research: Zoological taxonomy, fauna and biological diversity of exotic orders of insects; overviews of various exotic insects (one paper and two books were published in 2011 and 2012).

  • Master studies
  • Participation in teaching of Global Biodiversity

  • Doctorate studies
  • Member of Scientific Committee of doctoral studies on Entomology and Plant Parazitology

    Research activities

  • Research areas
  • 1) Global diversity and taxonomy of leaf-ming insects, belonging to Nepticuloidae (Nepticulidae) and Tischerioidea (Tischeriidae): descriptions of new taxa, research on biology (host-plant/trophic relationships), etc.

Most of these projects relate to the Neotropical fauna (Central and South America).

    2) Distribution and fauna of Lithuanian nepticuloids and tischerioids.
