LIQUID CRYSTALS LABORATORY

About us

Liquid crystals laboratory was established in 1975. Especial interest is devoted to liquid crystalline dendrimers possibility to capture metallic nanoparticles and ions or neutral molecules as well as to physical features of  infiltrated photonic crystals. The laboratory was a partner of EU FP6  NoE  project PHOREMOST 2004-2008 No511616 (www.phoremost.org) - nanophotonics to realize molecular scale technologies. Now we are partners of COST P19 "Multiscale modeling of materials" 2008-2011, COST TD0802 "Dendrimers in biomedical applications" 2008-2012 and COST MP0803 "Plasmonic components and devices" 2008-2012. The head of the laboratory is prof. Rimas Vaisnoras.
